Hybrid car festival
BackToday's automakers are looking for a way to show off their latest hybrid technology. Hybrid vehicles - vehicles with gas and electric engines working together to power an automobile - represent only a little more than 1.5 percent of the total new vehicle marketplace, but many people are looking to hybrids to ease our dependence on oil.
Recently in Madison, Wisconsin, passionate hybrid owners and the people who make hybrids rallied at the first annual Hybridfest. Today's hybrids aren't just for the single person commuting to work. New hybrid models have the same look, feel, and capability as a conventional gas engine powered vehicle and help out the environment with lower emissions.
With fuel prices on the rise, many consumers are looking for any alternative to save at the pump. Hybrids work by storing kinetic energy in their battery that would otherwise be lost in a gasoline-only automobile.

You guys don't seem to realize that you are playing with a ticking time bomb. How long do you think the earth will allow us to pump all this nasty stuff into the atmosphere? The latest NASA report predicts that at the current rate the ice caps will be melted by the summer of 2012. If that happens we are royally screwed!

here is a hint:
Stop making so many fucking babies that will need and want so many resources. There should be Government programs to tie off the tubes of most of the "millennials" and "twixters" anyhow.

Dude , seriously, do you REALIZE how many times since 1978 that I have heard some year proclaimed as "the year it all ends"?? I heard that about 1985, 1993, 1995, 1997, 2000, 2005, I mean the predictions success rate would bankrupt you if you were depending on it for a paycheck.
Jabo1977 (June 5, 2008 at 6:11 am)
It may not be the "year it all ends". Probably more like "the year things get very uncomfortable for us". Most of those predictions you are talking about have been religious groups or prophecies. We are talking about a truly scientific model by NASA. I think it's in our best interest to take notice now rather than complain about how bad things are when it's too late. Don't you?
